You sit with the operator, find the workflow that eats the week, and build the harness that removes it. This is the role that turns a two-week pilot into production.

What you will do
Scope pilots on the lease, not over a call
Build and ship agent harnesses against real historian and land-system data
Own the deployment through to the first month of production runs
What we look for
Strong Python or TypeScript, comfortable in someone else’s codebase
You have shipped something that ran unattended and had consequences
Willing to be in the field, in winter
Models

ML engineer · finetuning

Own the pipeline that turns an operator’s well files, tickets, and SCADA history into a model that speaks their basin, and keep the weights on their metal.

What you will do
Own dataset curation, finetuning, evals, and distillation to edge-sized models
Build the alignment loop that turns operator corrections into training signal
Keep everything reproducible on customer hardware, air-gapped where required
What we look for
You have finetuned and evaluated open-weight models in production, not just notebooks
Comfortable with the whole loop: data, training, eval, deployment
Bonus: you have worked with messy industrial time-series

Review model output against how you would actually have handled it
Record the reasoning, not just the answer
Flag where the model is confidently wrong
What we look for
10+ years in production, drilling, facilities, regulatory, or land in the WCSB
You can explain why a call was right, not only that it was
